It's been such a long time since I last lay on my bed reading a good book like this. After all the hustle and bustle of summer, it's time to slow things down and enjoy a competition-free period. I'm starting to love this transitioning season for how it reminds me of high school life. Once again this nostalgic feeling comes everytime I think how quickly time passes by and how differently my beloved friends live their lives.
Lately, I've been having stirring emotions over several people and events. The was an element of fear and disbelief, strong enough that I was scared of following the path I chose. Sometimes I wish I could just go back to that time, when we had simple dreams and a genuine feeling of belongingness.

I dislike people dissing my taste in music

I spent the whole night last night listening to Beyonce singing live and of course Lady Gaga.
Beyonce is a Goddess.
Yes she is.
Her voice in real life (I mean live shows) is 9999999999.....9999 times better than in the CD.

I'm officially addicted to Urban Outfitters clothes. Every time wandering around Arndale I need to grab something at that shop, either a shirt, a skirt or a cardigan. Their earrings are super amazing too, definitely my style.

Random Rambling (Part 1)

Woke up at 4 A.M and really bored right now.
So I've just decided to jot down some random facts about me. Sone are not really facts, just things that have ran to my mind at this very moment.

1. My daily schedule here in the UK is unbelievable for a girl - in a bad way. Sometimes I go to bed at 7 A.M, sometimes I stay awake all night doing nothing and sometimes I allow myself to sleep for a whole day.

2. I am obsessed with Black. Half of my clothes are black. My laptop is black. My bags are black. My mobile phone is black. I've never dyed my hair because I love its natural colour, which is black. I love black pumps, black bracelets, black pianos, black pens, black kitchen utensils...

3. On the other hand, I am a great fan of colours. Life would be so dull with black only. My favourite colours are red, white, champagne, chestnut, fuchsia, crimpson glory, cream, beige, salmon, tan, orange, teal, olive green, gold, pear, dusty rose...

4. I am an earring collector. Huge love!

5. I work very hard on academic stuff only when I am inspired by others.

6. I raise three chihuahuas with my Mom. Feel like I am their real sister.

7. Musicals make me cry easily. Performing art is an escape and a muse. I have watched The 10th anniversary of Les Miserables on Youtube more than 10 times.

8. I love singing. I am frustrated I can't reach high notes. Otherwise my voice is pretty nice.

9. I first learned to play the piano when I was 9. Continued for the the next 9 years. Took a break for nearly 3 years. And now I've started again, all by myself.

10. I enjoy all types of music - but never pretend to like what I don't understand.

11. I enjoy listening to people talking about politics.

12. My role model is Audrey Hepburn - a classic beauty, a beautiful soul, a generous woman, a great sense of humour, an iconic style.

13. Another role model of mine is Beyonce, I admire her talent and her down-to-earth personality.

14. I love British accent.

15. I enjoy wearing the Vietnamese traditional dress, indeed.

16. My friends are super cool and talented.

17. I wish I could hug and kiss my Mom right now.

18. I bite my nails. Trying to stop this ugly habit but oh well..

19. I currently paint my nails with pearly pink nail polish.

20. I am an EATER. I eat a lot compared with my girl friends, even boy friends. I enjoy eating with my Mom the most, cos she has a passion for culinary art.

21. If I'm not studying Hospitality/Tourism right now, I'd love to pursue a career in Fashion, Performing Art or, surprisingly, Geography.

22. I was best at Geography during school years and still love it now.

23. My mom is a sensational cook.

24. I am very close with my grand parents.

25. I frequently have quarrels with my Dad but that's ok!

26. I want to buy a sewing machine and make clothes for myself.

27. I enjoy all aspects of Dancing, which include music, improvisation, shouting at each other during practice sessions, having your coach shouting at you, working as a team, preparing for competitions, having your clothes made and changing them by yourself, putting the make-up on, laughing and crying, feeling pain, feeling victory, feeling like a loser, turning into a new person on stage, dancing while nobody is watching, teaching others how to dance..Yeh, probably everything

27 is a good number I guess, I'll be rambling about myself next time. These statements were written down so sponteneously that now I hardly remember what I was talking about :)). So good night and have a lovely day ahead. Love.

"Socrates learned to dance when he was seventy because he felt that an essential part of himself had been neglected"

(Sorry I got this picture a long time ago and don't remeber the source)

Pictures of beautiful dancers like this always turn me on

Several people have asked me questions like "You do ballet?" or "You look like a ballet dancer when you dance" even though I have no ballet background whatsoever. Everytime I was like: Yayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!, simply because I've loved to be able to dance on pointe all my life.

Lots of my dancer idols went through serious ballet training, starting as soon as they could literally walk. Some of my coaches also have ballet background and have danced for ages. I don't. My partner and my ex partners don't. Dancing was like something magical but only known to us when we were no longer kids with flexible muscles.

Jealous? Yes! But how early you start dancing doesn't really matter, it's how much you dedicate your time to it that counts. I love all styles of dance and can never get enough of them. Hope that's enough.

You've got me wrapped around your little finger - My song

Felt like a bitch today with my negative thoughts.

Anyways, I'm listening to the most GORGEOUS song "You've Got Me Wrapped Around Your Little Finger" by Beth Rowley. Her voice is intoxicating my Godness! Just can't get enough of it.

An Education is such an amazing delicate movie.

Films are irresistable

Finished watching some lovely movies: Breakfast at Tiffany's, An Education, The Blind Side, Up in the Air, Coco before Chanel and The Vertical Ray of the Sun. Three of them are nominated for Best Picture this year.

I personally like "An Education" much indeed because in one way or another, I find myself in there. The film sets in London in the 1960s, which makes it perfect for me (music, fashion and all that jazz). The Blind Side made me weep like a child missing her own Mom - such an amazing real story and Sandra Bullock was stunning as a mother. I won't mind if she takes home an Oscar for best leading actress this year (well honestly I will be so sad for Meryl if that really happens).

It's funny how I realised "The scent of Green Papaya" was also an Oscar nominee in 1994, along with all the marvellous hits like Pulp Fiction or Forrest Gump. Of course it was in the "Best Foreign Language Film" category but that still counts, doesn't it :D . So I tried to search for it everywhere on the Internet but all the download links were dead. Then I happened to watch another film directed by Trần Anh Hùng - The Vertical Ray of Sun. Thank God somebody uploaded the whole film on YouTube! This is the last work of Trần Anh Hùng's "Vietnam Trilogy", all starred his wife - Trần Nữ Yên Khê. I watched this film ages ago, maybe when I was still in Primary school or early Secondary school. Have to say the feeling is completely different now. I love this kind of film, in which I don't have to expect an interesting plot, it's rather about mood and emotions. Three women characters are all exceptionally gorgeous. Very restrained acting and little dialogue. Everything just flows and overflows. This is definitely one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. For somebody else, "The vertical ray of the sun" romanticises Hanoi a little bit too much. But for me, all those dreamy artful images are so dear to the heart. Hanoi is really THAT irresistable.

And yes, I need moments when I can dream fashion and worship women's beauty. An Audrey Hepburn film is always the best treat. But the dangerous thing is, watching "Breakfast at Tiffany's" only makes me desire a piece of Tiffany even more. I promise this, as soon as I can afford to buy expensive jewelry for myself, I'll buy Mom Tiffany because she loves it. She deserves the best!

(Save "the Good, the Bad & the Ugly for someday when I really have time! Can't wait to get my dissertation done done done)
